Thomas Dann is Founder and Managing Director of CastleHaven Advisors, LLC. He has been
involved in private equity for over 20 years both as an advisor and as a
principal. Prior to joining CastleHaven, Mr. Dann co-founded and was a Managing Director of ECentury Capital Partners, L.P. , a $90 million Washington, DC based
Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) backed by investors N.M. Rothschild, Hitachi, Mitsubishi Corporation and
Allied Capital. As an experienced SBIC manager with extensive knowledge of the
SBA and SBICs, Mr. Dann has also structured secondary transactions for SBICs. He received his BA from Stanford University
and his Juris Doctor from American University Law School.
Michael Long joined CastleHaven in 2011 and has over 18 years of experience in financial management of venture and private
equity funds. Beginning in 2001 he served as Chief Financial Officer of
GIV Venture Partners, L.P., a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) where he
also was responsible for all SBA-related reporting and regulatory
matters. Prior to GIV Mr. Long served as Chief Financial Officer of
Mid-Atlantic Venture Fund, a leading regional early-stage investment fund.
During his venture capital career Mike has been involved with the
formation of several private equity funds, as well as, several hundred
portfolio transactions. In addition to his financial, accounting and
administrative responsibilities Mike has played a key role in structuring and
negotiating transactions, as well as, providing advisory services to portfolio
companies. Previously Mike was CFO of the founding management team of
Interactive Clinical Technologies, Inc., a pharmaceutical services company.
Mike began his career as a Certified Public Accountant and tax specialist with Peat Marwick Mitchell
and holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Widener University.
